Jewish Child & Family Services (JCFS) provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year.
JCFS is currently looking for a Mental Health Clinician in our Intensive Placement Services (IPS) department. This individual will provide in-home or community-based, intense, shorter term (less than 6 months), crisis intervention and/or mental health therapy services to foster children and their foster families. This position is based out of our Downtown office and will travel to see clients in the Downtown, Far North, North, and West suburb areas.
Master's degree in Social Work or related Human Services field, such as Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage/Family Therapy, from an accredited program
As this position requires site visits and occasional client transportation to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation, you must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable access to a four-wheeled vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area
Able to work evenings and weekends based on client and program needs
Current license in applicable field, e.g. LSW, LPC, MFT, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Performs in-home/community based individual and family therapy with assigned clients, with the overall goal of promoting placement stability (where clinically indicated) and maintaining clients within their community
Advocates for clients’ best interest in school settings, at juvenile court and in any other systems that interface with the client and their family
Performs record keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the Agency, including written treatment documentation within the required time frames and billing under Medicaid Rule 132
