Position Summary: Provide direct social work services including assessment, treatment, interventions and recommendations to facilitate movement through the continuum of care to patients and their families. Participate in and provide the social work perspective to interdisciplinary activities. Provide social work treatment, individually or in groups, to patients and clients and their families with complex emotional or social problems. Assume basic consultation, supervisory, teaching, research, program development and/or administrative responsibilities in this assignment.
Several positions are open for social workers to be part of interdisciplinary care teams in this fast-paced environment providing assessment, education, advocacy and/or discharge planning to patients of all ages and their families. Services are provided in a variety of hospital and clinic settings either individually, in groups, or as part of interdisciplinary planning, program development, teaching and research.
Applicants are required to meet the following qualifications:
Master’s degree with a major concentration in social work
Six months to one year of social work experience
A license to practice social work (or the ability to obtain licensure) in Iowa
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
