Talbot House Ministries was established to be a place of hope for people who had lost hope: the hungry, the homeless and the poor. Planting the seeds of hope is something we do with everyone who comes through our doors.
The Director of Operations is the key staff leader who ensures that Talbot House Ministries is using evidence-based strategies for care and recovery, and that all staff within Talbot House Ministries understand the theory of trauma informed care, and are practically applying the theory operationally. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring transitional and permanent housing is appropriately full, and that Talbot House Ministries is following HUD rules and regulations. This position is the program developer and leader for Talbot House Ministries.
Must be a licensed clinical social worker, or license eligible in the state of Florida. Specific job responsibilities will include:
Leading our housing and mental health staff.
Coaching and mentoring case management staff.
Evaluating existing services, and implementing appropriate changes.
Ensuring we have a trauma-informed care model in place and are adhering to that model.
Ensuring that clients are screened, assessed, and referred to the appropriate level of service.
Ensuring that there is a network of services that clients can be referred to outside of our organization
Developing, in consultation with the Executive Director, performance metrics for the program.
Ensuring there are client treatment plans
Providing individual, group, family and other therapy as clinically indicated and determined by the treatment plan, documenting all therapy services as directed by policy and procedure in a timely manner, utilize best practice protocols for all therapeutic interventions.
Working towards making our services the premier services for homeless and indigent populations
Handling crisis calls and situations in an effective manner.
Identifying training needs of staff within our continuous learning environment, and providing training when appropriate.
Ensuring that dorms and housing are appropriately occupied, and there is a service program for all clients and residents.
Ensures compliance with HUD and other regulatory and donor guidelines and statutes.
Knowledge and experience in homeless services strongly preferred.
Education and Background
Master’s degree required.
Licensure in clinical social work, or license eligible in the state of Florida
Management and budget experience required.
Development of performance metrics required.
Public speaking as well as training experience required.
