Under moderate supervision, performs electroencephalograms, auditory, visual, and upper and lower evoked potentials in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Sets priorities, and performs duties required to ensure efficient work flow. Obtains patientâ��s medical history, explains test to be administered. Gives preparatory instructions to patient and prepares digital recordings studies for physician interpretation. Identifies and records specific abnormalities and notifies physician accordingly. Completes outpatient billing sheets and completes billing in CIS. Monitors and inputs inpatient requests in scheduling system. Checks in, out and no shows patients in scheduling system. Cleans equipment, restocks supplies, and informs supervisor of need to re-order supplies. Works with front office patient access representative to fax and prepare documents for scanning. Distributes and files records appropriately. Assists with answering and routing incoming telephone calls and scheduling patients. Performs other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of six months training or experience in EEG procedures. A certificate or associate degree in EEG or electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology from a technical or community college preferred.
Evoked Potentials training or experience preferred.
Strong background in biological, physiological, and psychological sciences is preferred.
. BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
