Pediatric Psychologist Northwestern Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois
The professional we select will provide direct clinical services, including psychological evaluations, consultations, and therapeutic treatment services, to children and adolescents with comorbid medical, developmental, behavioral and mental health concerns. Using evidence-based, problem-focused psychological interventions, this individual will focus on behavioral interventions, parent education, and training. Additional responsibilities will include:
Clinically supporting specialty programs in collaboration with physicians from Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital encompassing Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Clinic, Interdisciplinary Feeding Clinic, and Pediatric Psychiatry. Additional opportunities exist to form collaborations with other subspecialty programs.
Providing specialized diagnostic services, including evaluation of developmental delays and disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and pre-surgical evaluations for children and adolescents.
Advising physicians and medical teams regarding behavioral, emotional, and/or familial aspects of a child's illness and symptoms via outpatient multidisciplinary clinics and inpatient consultation-liaison services.
Comprehensively documenting visit notes and completing written reports for psychological testing/evaluation within a timely manner.
Following the Integrative Medical Model as outlined, paying attention to communication with primary care physician and other members of the patient care team.
Reporting unexpected patient outcomes or complaints to practice manager/director.
Attending and actively participating in continuing education events, as well as case management presentations/staff meetings.
Graduation from a fully accredited Pys. D. or Ph. D. program in clinical psychology, health psychology, or similar.
Two or more years of experience in a pediatric intensive treatment setting (with supervisory experience in individual and family counseling preferred).
Current clinical psychology licensure in the state of Illinois.
Current malpractice insurance.
Successful interactive experience as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Three or more years of experience as a psychologist working with children and adolescents within a hospital or outpatient pediatric clinic.
Experience in the administration and interpretation of diagnostic psychological assessment batteries for children and adolescents.
Knowledge of community programs and resources pertaining to support groups and mental health services.
Ability to communicate with patients and their families in Spanish.
Experience in charting with electronic medical record software.
Understanding of and training in case management.
