The Oncology Social Worker, in collaboration with the oncologists and midlevel providers, serves as the primary provider of psychosocial care to cancer patients and their families seen in the outpatient clinics of the Bayhealth Cancer Center. The Oncology Social Worker will facilitate adjustment of patient and families to a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery by promoting coping skills, self-advocacy, sharing information and resource referrals.
The position requires a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate school of Social Work, two (2) years' experience in a hospital or medical social work setting and must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Oncology Social Work Certification is preferred and experience with EPIC is desired.
