You will be responsible for:
Performs checks on assigned patients focusing on behavior and appearance.
Reports patient status, abnormal problems, and behavioral changes to nursing staff and under their direction, per policies and procedures, assists in preforming behavioral health Standards of Care.
Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
Assists in identifying needs and developing/modifying plan of care.
Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions.
Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of residents, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade skills. Interacts effectively with other team members.
Assists with food distribution to patients.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit
Qualifications
What you will need:
Knowledge of electronic medical records.
Previous healthcare experience.
Basic Life Support
CNA license preferred but not required.
Strong customer service skills.
Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician works under the supervision of the nursing staff performing specific duties with patients identified in the position responsibilities. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
