Provides psychoeducation and behavioral counseling to patients and/or families with mental and/or substance use disorders. Is a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers. This position will work under the supervision of an LCPC in the inpatient setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to perform and document patient observations and assessments.
Assists in develop and implement a plan of treatment, continuing care and discharge plans for the patient and/or family.
Assists in the provisin of clinical services to patients with mental and/or substance use disorders.
Assists in the observation and documentation of patient behaviors, works with treatment team to and revise treatment plan as needed.
Delivers psycho-educational classes and therapy programs as guided by licensed staff.
Assists with case management responsibilities for assigned patients.
Communicates appropriately and clearly with supervisor, manager, co-workers, other departments and physicians.
Maintains patient records with documentation meeting standards and policies.
Treats patients and families with professionalism, respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. Functions as a liaison between patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Adheres to dress code.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Wears identification while on duty.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Attends meetings as required within the department.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.

Coordinates efforts in meeting regulatory compliance, federal, state and local regulations and standards

Completion of 1st year in a Master's Program with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology or Professional Counseling preferred.
Completion of undergraduate degree with emphasis in social sciences, psychology or similar aspect of healthcare.
