Director of Clinical Training for the Counseling Programs
Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks a Director of Clinical Training for the CACREP accredited counseling programs. Trinity offers tracks in School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling-Urban Track in the School of Nursing and Health Profession. The Director of Clinical Training for Counseling Programs serves as the liaison between the Counseling program and clinical sites. Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Programs, the Director of Clinical Training is responsible for the administration and coordination of practicum and internship experiences of Counseling candidates. Candidates complete a 3-semester applied counseling training experience during their final year in the program, under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional (or certified school counselor at public schools) at various clinical settings throughout the Maryland/DC/Virginia metropolitan area. The ongoing coordination of clinical training experiences in the program is essential to the training of our graduate counseling students. The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in the field of Counselor Education, be licensed in the MD/DC metropolitan area, and a minimum of five years of counseling experience. Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong administrative and organization skills and an ability to build and manage relationships with clinical placements and external partners. Trinity seeks an individual who possesses training in counselor supervision.
