Recruitment or Relocation Incentive May be Authorized for Highly Qualified Candidates The incumbent of this position serves full-time as a psychologist in a Behavioral Health Clinic located in a Community Based Outpatient Clinic(s) (CBOCs) affiliated with Oklahoma City VA Health Care System , Oklahoma City. This position is located in Clinton, OK within the Behavioral Medicine Service. As a Licensed Provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs, you will practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental disorders. consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate. Major duties and responsibilities include: Diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders Provide are individual, family, and group psychotherapies and other interventions such as behavioral health and community interventions Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Staff psychologists may be involved in program evaluation, teaching, training, and research activities This position involves compliance with all requirements for Joint Commission and VACO. Also, the Psychologist participates in program planning, process improvement, and evaluation of the Behavioral Health Programs. Follows guidance regarding the assimilation and analysis of performance improvement data and utilizes processes to meet the regulatory requirements of VACO (e.g. SAIL data). Clinical Responsibilities (90% of time): Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services. Chooses the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care in the primary care medical setting. Performs evaluations and short-term interventions for a wide range of patients addressing a range of mental health and physical disorders. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including: individual, marital and group therapy and psycho-educational classes. Consults with CBOC and medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Involved with program evaluation and limited research activities. Provides independent psychological services at all levels of complexity and consults with peers and supervisors as appropriate. Provides clinical supervision to more junior psychologists. Academic/Teaching/Training (5% of time): May hold a faculty appointment at Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Oklahoma College of Medicine; as appropriate to location. Provides clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training: medical students, psychiatric residents, psychology graduate students, psychology postdoctoral fellows and psychology interns, as appropriate to location. Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staffs of units to which assigned Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assists in their case formulation and forming appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients Research/Program Evaluation (5% of time): Oversees/implements program monitors and outcome measurements within program assigned using a data-driven quality assurance process Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the medical center, as appropriate If applicable and time allows, plans and oversees the completion of personal research programs, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches. Presents outcome data and research results at VA and regional or national scientific or professional meetings Assists in preparation of RFP's and grant proposals as assigned Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
