The San Francisco VA Health Care System is recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to serve within Hematology/Oncology and other Specialized Clinics. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: Yes - optional at supervisor's discretion Financial Disclosure Report: Not required This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until 9/30/2021, or until the vacancy is filled. The purpose of this assignment is to provide the full range of comprehensive professional social work services to veterans and their families who are inpatients or outpatients at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, Ft. Miley Campus. The Senior Social Worker is assigned to provide and/or arrange for the delivery of services primarily for Hematology and Oncology Clinics and several additional specialty outpatient clinics. The incumbent evaluates and provides complex, multiple services to individuals and families with a variety of social, emotional and health related problems. Services are timely, comprehensive, and effectively coordinated with services provided by other health professionals. The incumbent works as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. The incumbent has experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment and at least two years in an area of specialized social work practice. The incumbent must be licensed at the advanced practice level. The incumbent requires specialized knowledge of issues in hematology and oncology including various cancers, their treatment, issues faced by people with cancer, community resources and specialized benefits. The incumbent demonstrates an ability to expand clinical knowledge in the profession, provide consultation and guidance to colleagues, role model effective social work practice skills, teach or provide orientation to less experienced Social Workers, develop innovations in practice interventions, and provide clinical supervision for social work licensure or certification.
