This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The VA St. Louis Health Care System (Mental Health Service) is recruiting for a full-time Social Worker (Housing Specialist), GS-0185-11. Duties include, but are not limited to: Development and implementation of facility and community wide housing opportunities for homeless Veterans. Conducts housing search strategies/plans based on individualized HOPE case management services and psychosocial assessments. Leads continuous quality improvement activities, evaluation/consultation, housing search and placement services to homeless veterans who are participants in the HOPE Program, and act as a centralized liaison for staff to HUD, participating and developing improved process for workflows with public housing authorities, landlord/property management companies and realtors. Develop and maintain electronic landlord databases accessible to staff and Veterans Build a comprehensive and extensive network of permanent, suitable housing options for HUD-VASH staff and regularly interfacing with landlords, property management companies and realtors on behalf of the HUD-VASH staff connecting HUD-VASH and HOPE Veterans to appropriate housing unique to each Veteran's need. Develops expertise in housing markets, HMIS and other relevant areas to support strategic planning for the homeless department. Coordinates regular housing fairs and landlord engagement events to support the department's mission. Duty Location: Hope Recovery Center, 515 North Jefferson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103.
