Work Hours/Shift:
Fulltime /Days 3/12hours shifts 7:00am – 7:00pm
You Will Be Responsible For:
Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned.
Participate in treatment planning by helping to identify patients’ problems, needs and strengths. Report all areas of concern regarding patient’s mental or physical status to the Charge Nurse.
Assist in the admission process, including obtaining vital signs, safety search of patients and personal belongings, obtaining urine specimens and orienting new patients to the unit and their program.
Ensure precaution protocols are followed and encourage patients to actively participate in all program activities.
Accompany patients as assigned by Charge Nurse.
Plan and prepare adequately for supportive group activities.
Maintain patient, program, and department related documentation ensuring that forms are properly and promptly completed and routed.
Participate in hospital emergency codes necessary to the unit’s and the hospital’s safe operation.
Provide general nursing assistance, appropriate to patient age and as assigned and supervised by Charge Nurse.
Carry out clerical and administrative assignment to support patient care and department operations, including taking and routing of phone messages.
Supports Behavioral Health Service internal and external customer service standards.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
High School Diploma or GED required
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training is required within 30 days of employment
Preferred:
Current FL C.N.A license
2+ years of psychiatric experience or 2+ years of C.N.A experience in a hospital
Job Summary:
To provide direct patient care to geriatric adults with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well-being of patients
