This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more The Incumbent serves as a Program Manager for the Health Psychology programming at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), Psychology Service. Health Psychology programming includes Spinal Cord Injury, Palliative Care/Community Living Center, COVID Convalescent Team, Transplant Team, Home-Based Primary Care Teams, Neurology/HCoE, Women's PACT, Sleep Clinic. Program Administrative Responsibilities: Oversee the development and implementation of therapeutic treatments programs such as evidenced based psychotherapies, individual and group psychotherapies and other non-evidenced based treatments Monitor access to timely service delivery of therapies and treatments Ensure adequate transfer of patients between clinics, adequate service offerings among clinics Review policies and procedures with staff to ensure compliance with performance measures related to access and clinic utilization rates Oversight of administrative and programmatic resources such as clinical demands and needs including psychological testing instruments, self-report measures, therapy treatment manuals, patient workbooks, and educational materials in support of staff needs Facilitate staff meetings with interdisciplinary psychotherapists for collaboration on mutual patients, compliance with performance measures and ensuring seamless access between programs Attend meeting with Medical Directors and Program Support Assistant to review consult assignment, clinic availability, and review appropriateness of consults to Health Psychology clinical areas Health Psychology Program Manager works closely with the respective AO's in meeting the necessary standards for providing patient care in areas such as appointment wait-times, consult status, coordination of group room space, monitoring open encounters, completion of clinical reminders, ensuring appropriate referrals to outside agencies and clinics for veterans Coordinate with discipline supervisors of matrixed staff assigned to these programs to ensure staff are working in accordance to the SOPs of the respective medicine clinics Manage the work of the program and its staff, ensuring that work is assigned in a systematic way and meets facility and VA guidelines/standards Meet on a regular basis with the AO's for status updates on programmatic changes, alterations to clinic staff schedules, review clinical demands and requests and ensure adequate coverage of clinic during holidays and other seasonal demands Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisor/Rater for psychologists in SCI, Palliative Care/CLC, Covid Convalescent Team, Transplant Team, HBPC, Neurology/HCoE, Women's PACT and Sleep Clinic Complete OPPE's, FPPE's for new and existing staff privileges as needed Complete the Mid-year and Annual Performance Evaluations for staff members Approve leave requests, review RVU productivity reports for supervisees, and supervise graduate psychologists Clinical Responsibilities: Provide a full range of psychological services, including: integrated, patient-centered mental health services and consultation for patients and staff within the medical center, specialty clinics and satellite clinics (via telemedicine); expert clinical consultation for various disciplines (primary Care, specialty mental health, specialty medicine) and various levels of training (MD, RN, LVN, etc.); immediate, onsite, targeted assessment and evaluation, clinical triage, diagnosis, risk assessment, and evidence-based intervention for all veterans; psychological intervention for full spectrum of mental health problems: individual, group, couples, and family counseling and psychotherapy; patient/family education, clinical supervision/teaching of treatment staff and trainees of various disciplines.
