This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more This position is also eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) BHIP/PTSD Psychologist will have the following specific Duties & Responsibilities: - As a member of the Des Moines BHIP Teams, manage the referral of Veterans for treatment of PTSD. This includes especially the timely management of Mental Health Consults requesting treatment for PTSD. - As a member of the Des Moines BHIP teams, provide evidence-based mental health treatment to Veterans with PTSD. - Meet monthly and yearly work Relative Value Unit (wRVU) productivity targets set jointly with clinical and administrative supervisors. - Complete documentation for patient encounters in a timely and appropriate manner in the Client Patient Record System (CPRS). - Analyze and maintain a PTSD patient database and produce reports on treatment delivery and efficacy for accrediting agencies as needed. - Obtain VA recognition in at least two evidence-based psychotherapies designed for PTSD, such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). - Act as a consultant on PTSD issues for staff at VA Central Iowa HCS.
