LUCRATIVE CHILD/ADOLESCENT/FAMILY PRIVATE PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY FOR LPC
Pitts & Associates, Inc., a well-established private mental health practice in Birmingham, AL is seeking an LPC specializing in child/adolescent work. Approximately 2/3 of your time will be with child/adolescent clients (including work with their parents/families), the other 1/3 can be adults, or whichever mix of clients you desire. For example, couple/marital cases are available, but not required.
Pitts & Associates is one of the most trusted mental health practices in Central Alabama. Since 1988, our founder, Dr. Robert M. (Bert) Pitts, Jr. (and the entire practice since '04) have carefully built a huge referral network of primary care physicians, schools/colleges/educators, professionals/businesses, houses of worship across all faiths, and predominantly satisfied clients. Pitts & Associates is well-known for intentionally and effectively marketing our clinicians. As such, your practice will very quickly grow.
If you like us and we extend an offer, we require 3 months to get you on necessary insurance panels and do advance marketing. You set the pace at which you desire to begin, then within 1-2 months, your patient load will increase to 30-35 client hours per week. At that pace, you can expect your annual income (after overhead) to be close to or above 6 figures in year one, and easily surpass that amount in subsequent years. We need a clinician that is passionate about working with children, adolescents and their families. Specifically, we want a well-trained LPC willing and able to (1) work hard, (2) practice good self-care, (3) follow our lead in marketing yourself (we do most of the latter for you), and (4) build your own reputation and add to ours. Ultimately, as a result of your efforts and our collaboration, you will be amply rewarded!
In addition to adept, professional management and marketing of your practice, your time can include (as desired), free clinical/professional mentoring and supervision by Dr. Pitts. Young clinicians often take advantage of this benefit for the first year or more. Dr. Pitts has been a licensed psychologist for 32 years, and owned a practice for half of that period. He has seen all ages for his entire career (children, adolescents, adults), and in addition to individual work, he is an expert systems therapist (marriage & family).

About the area: Birmingham is a scenic Sunbelt city at the piedmont of the Appalachian Mountains with a metro population of 1.3M. The city and surrounding area have countless beautiful vistas and hiking trails, as well as a beautiful State Park (Oak Mountain). Birmingham is conveniently served by five interstate highways, 3 hours or less from Atlanta and Nashville, and only 5 hours from both New Orleans and the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast. There is a world-class medical center (UAB), and several highly-ranked private and public universities and liberal arts institutions (UAB, UAB Medical/Dental School, Samford University/Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham-Southern College, University of Montevallo), and a number of thriving community/junior colleges and technical schools. Birmingham has a growing number of top-tier restaurants and bars, 4 with James Beard awards and 6 starred by Michelin. The downtown area has been in the midst of a renaissance for over 40 years, and now has an impressive array of beautifully-renovated buildings, lofts, and parks, as well as cultural/entertainment sites such as the Alys Stephens Center (home of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra), Birmingham Museum of Art, McWane Science Center, Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, Regions Field, and the award-winning Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and Railroad Park. There are many smaller music venues with regular live music and both community and professional theaters with a full slate of plays and musicals, most running year-round. For choral/classical music enthusiasts, Birmingham is loaded with professional-caliber choirs and pipe organists, with over 20 choirs meeting this standard (and regularly recording pieces/CDs). Birmingham (and all of Alabama) are a literal paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with short distances to campgrounds, fishing, hunting, large lakes for boating/skiing/watersports, and a bevvy of rivers and streams for canoeing/kayakers. If you are interested in sports, several NFL, NBA, MLS, and MLB teams are within a few hours’ drive. Birmingham is home to the Barons (AA baseball) Legion (USL soccer), and Bulls (SPHL hockey). Plus, Birmingham is right in the middle of the exciting SEC, just an hour from the 2021 NCAA Football National Champion University of Alabama, and only two hours from always-competitive Auburn University. Alabama and Auburn (who play annually in the well-known "Iron Bowl") are one of the best rivalries in all of college sports.
Overall, Birmingham is large enough to have the attractions of a growing, thriving city, but small enough to navigate without many traffic headaches or delays. We think you will find it a nice place in which to live and work! Many in the practice have lived in this area for awhile, and are willing to assist you with networking, if desired.
Licensed LPC or license-eligible in Alabama (i.e., you would need to be fully licensed in Alabama by the time you joined us in 3 months)
Additional Salary Information: Salary is based on collections, see above write-up. However, if you work the number of hours as stated above, $90-100K in year one will be the MINIMUM.
