The Associate Chief of Staff, Mental Health, is a clinical and management position that supports this mission through administrative leadership, direct patient care, and oversight of Mental Health clinical, educational and research activities. A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized for a Highly Qualified Individual. The Associate Chief of Staff will be responsible for the mission to lead satisfied staff dedicated to providing high quality patient centered care at VA North Texas Health Care System. The Mental Health Product Line includes programs of acute inpatient care, outpatient care, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic, Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center, Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, Homeless Veterans Care Programs and Mental Health Intensive Case Management. Additional duties assigned include the following: Provides leadership in the application of clinical practice to organizational processes and/or Systems improving outcomes at the agency/service level, incorporating the knowledge of age related criteria for the adult veteran population. Supports staff on issues related to young adults (18-40, middle age adults (41-65), and older adults (66-up). Responsible and accountable for assisting the Chief of Staff, Nurse Executive and Director in planning, organizing, and coordinating all Mental Health product line clinical programs through teamwork. Keeps the Chief of Staff and Director apprised of all relevant issues; keeps veterans abreast of changes as appropriate. Provides leadership for programs in an effective manner, demonstrates a high level of initiative and independence in carrying out the administrative and patient care functions in accordance with the VANTSCS and Veterans Health Administration policies and procedures. Serves as ACOS for Mental Health Product Line throughout the VA North Texas Health Care System. Serves on the Executive Council of the Medical Staff & Academic Partnership Council. Chairs the Mental Health product line meetings as well as the Mental Health Council Meetings. Committee assignments may change over time. Responsible for assuring the compliance with clinical practice guidelines and creating systems that promote state -of-the-art chronic care. Provides an environment supportive education, training and research for all health care professionals. Responsible for enforcement of VANTHCS policies, rules and regulations, and of the Medical Staff ByLaws Rules and Regulations within Mental Health Operations. Responsible for developing and implementing all Mental specific policies. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Afterhours and weekend work may be occasionally required.
