Supervisory Social Worker (Veteran Justice Programs)
The Supervisory Social Worker for the Veterans Justice Programs (VJP) must have skill in diplomacy, patient advocacy, and negotiation in spanning boundaries of multiple large institutions, including VA, the courts, and/or corrections. The position requires knowledge of correctional cultures and their impact upon Veteran, institutional, and community perceptions and behavior, as well as skill in assisting Veterans to adopt behaviors adaptive to community living. The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensures that all identified and interested incarcerated Veterans, regardless of their release dates, are provided with verbal and/or written information regarding VA benefits and insures that the incarcerated Veterans have access to Federal VA Benefits Guides, VA
