Social Science Specialist (Crisis Responder)
The VCL connects Veterans and Service members in crisis, along with their families and others, with qualified Social Science Specialists (Crisis Responders) through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Crisis Responders are trained to assist Veterans and Service members through various kinds of behavioral health crisis situations by providing support and referrals to VA and local services. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
